Nidhi is an ASHA certified and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist who has worked in both the public and private school settings. She has a M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Maryland and has worked with a variety of students with special learning needs. She has a particular specialty in working with students that have language based learning difficulties (such as dyslexia and dysgraphia) and also Developmental Language Disorders.
Nidhi is a member of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and holds a certification as a Structured Literacy Teacher from The Center For Effective Reading Instruction. She is trained in IMSE's Orton-Gillingham methodology for multi-sensory reading, Handwriting Without Tears, and Lindamood Bell's Seeing Stars, Visualizing and Verbalizing and the LIPS program for reading and comprehension. She also has experience working with students that have a variety of speech and language difficulties such as Articulation disorders, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Phonological Disorders, Social-Pragmatic Language disorder, Expressive and Receptive language disorder etc.
She believes in order for therapy to be truly effective it MUST be engaging and fun. She incorporates each clients unique interests and preferences into her sessions and makes sure that the child is enjoying the therapy process. Nidhi creates an individualized treatment plan for each of her clients and regularly tracks progress towards goals to ensure that therapy is effective.
